Many games in the cartridge era used batteries to hold important data such as save files and real time clock data. Over time, these batteries dry out and those functions no longer work in the game. To properly replace the battery, they must be de-soldered and a new one soldered onto the board. Along with replacing the battery, this service also includes a complimentary cleaning of the board and pins to ensure the game keeps working the best that it can.

One of the most common failure points on a game console are the ports. These include hdmi on home consoles, and charging ports on handhelds. This typically requires fully disassembling the system, removing the port from the board, and carefully soldering in a new one. There are a myriad of great mods that can be done to the entire line of Gameboy handhelds to breath new live into these beloved devices, such as replacing the original screen with something modern, giving it a new shell with a nice design, or even upgrading to a modern battery.
